Cappadocia Festival

Different festivals are organized in different months in order to make the holidays of Cappadocia residents more colourful and many people from Turkey and abroad participate in these festivals. In Cappadocia, where the participation is increasing every year and mostly sporting festivals are held, the festival calendar is as follows.

Cappadox Festival:

In this festival, which is held in May, local dishes are served, local and foreign artists and music groups give concerts, contemporary art shows, nature activities, valley walks, valley bike tours, yoga at sunrise, cooking classes, food tasting activities, picnic activities, exhibitions and shows and many other activities are organized. Those who want to attend the festival, which is attended by thousands of people from Turkey and different countries, are advised to get their tickets in advance. The outdoor activities organized within the scope of the festival are generally held in Aşk valley, Meskendir valley, Avanos valley, Göreme Valley, Zemi Valley, Paşabağ valley, Güvercinlik valley and Kızıl valley. There is a free shuttle service to the festival area during the festival.

Erciyes Ultra Sky Trail Mountain Marathon

People of all ages can participate in this festival which is organized in Kayseri-Erciyes.The marathon held in July consists of four different stages. Erciyes Ultra Sky Trail, the most vertical km race in Europe, continues to increase with each passing year. Participation in the festival is free of charge and anyone older than 18 can participate. Those who want to participate in the festival must register in advance, and if they wish, they can set up free tents in the tent camp area 200 meters from the start area. Before the festival, which is held at the foot of Mount Erciyes, the participants are informed about the marathon at Mount Erciyes ski resort. Those who want to come to Erciyes by plane should come to Kayseri airport  For those who wish to come by buses, there are buses from anywhere in Turkey to Kayseri. There is a free shuttle from the airport and the Bus terminal for those who register.

Runfire Cappadocia Marathon

The Runfire Cappadocia running festival, which has been held every July since 2012, starts in Uçhisar and continues through the Güvercinlik valley, Ürgüp, Göreme and Ihlara valleys to Tuz Gölü. Within the scope of the route, which is approximately 260 km and consists of 6 different stages, the participants stay in the camps established at a different point each day. Those wishing to participate in the Runfire Cappadocia marathon must register in advance and pay the fee. Participants are also required to submit a health certificate stating that there is nothing to prevent them from running or walking. Included in the price are transfers, toilets in the camps, showers, drinking water, hot water, tracking device, health-safety service, and transit fees from ancient cities to museums and historical sites. Participants are advised to be informed in advance about the materials they should keep with them during the marathon.

Erciyes Bicycle Festival

Within the scope of the four-day festival held in Erciyes, the participants compete in many different tracks on and off and on. The festival, which is held in July, is subject to a surcharge and can be attended by anyone older than 18 years. There is a free shuttle from the bus station to the registration area for depositors. For the participants of the festival, can set up their tents and stay free of charge within the Erciyer Ski Center Festival Camp Area.

Salcano Cappadocia Bicycle Festival

This festival is held in September for biking fans in Uçhisar. Professional and amateur cyclists also participate in the festival as well as many athletes from different countries of the world and enjoy the wonderful scenery. Within the scope of the festival, different activities, events and meeting days are held for bicycle lovers. Those who want to participate in the festival can register on the website. A total of 107 km long course has 1391 meters climbing a route, 41 km short course and 649 meters climbing the route. Those wishing to participate in the festival must pay advance. There are direct buses from anywhere in Turkey to Uçhisar, visitors can also come by planes using the Kayseri and Nevşehir airports.

Urgup vine harvest festival

This festival, which is organized in order to highlight the winemaking and wine culture of Cappadocia for centuries, is usually held in the second week of September every year. In addition to concerts and performances, different kinds of entertainment, alcoholic and non-alcoholic wines made from grapes and grapes grown in the region are served as tastings at the festival held in the region where there are so-called fairy chimneys

Salomon Cappadocia Ultra Trail

In this festival, which is a jogging event, participants take a path of approximately 119 km long and 3730 meters to climb with unparalleled views in the valleys and plateaus of the Cappadocia region, which entered UNESCO World, Heritage List. Participants are required to register in advance for the event, which is attended by many world-famous athletes. The contest is held in Ürgüp in October and participants can come from Kayseri and Nevsehir Airports as they can come from anywhere in Turkey by buses.

Classical Pleasures International Cappadocia Music Festival

The festival, which is held in Mustafapaşa, Ürgüp, Uçhisar and Avanos with the participation of different artists from different countries of the world, offers classical music concerts as well as piano and violin concerts in Cappadocia. Within the scope of the festival, which is held at the end of August and early September, paid courses are organized to increase the interest in classical music and to train new musicians.
