There are many places in Assos and surrounding areas that are definitely recommended to visit for those who come to Assos for a visit or holiday. Assos Ancient City

The Ancient City of Assos, which is built on a 236 m high volcanic hill, is 17 km away from Ayvacik district centre. Ancient Port of Assos:

The ancient port of Assos was used as the most important and the biggest part of the region in ancient times. Apollon Smitheus Sanctuary of Gülpınar village

The sanctuary established by the city of Alexandria Troas is located in the town of Gülpınar.The temple built in 150 BC is known as the most important sanctuary of Troas after the temple of Athena in Troy. Since the temple is believed to protect the farmers from rats, small mouse figures greet visitors on the temple stairs. There are 8 columns on the long sides and 14 columns on the front and back sides of the temple. The narrow sides of the temple are 23.20 meters long and the edges are 41.65 meters long. The entrance to the Sanctuary of Apollo Smitheus, which is 28 km from Assos, is not free of charge and museum cardholders can visit free of charge.

Sütüven Waterfall and Hasan boğuldu pond

Sütüven waterfall, which means splashing water, flows from a height of 17 meters. It is possible to drive to the waterfall, which has a high number of visitors, especially in summer. A great view awaits visitors at the top of the waterfall. In the forest around the waterfall, there are suitable areas for hiking, trekking and mountaineering sports. Those who do not like to travel in hot weather are advised to make their trips in April-May. Hasan Boğuldu pond is a pond formed by water from Sütüven waterfall. The number of visitors coming to this pond with magnificent shades of blue and green, especially in the scorching summer heat to swim, to cool off and relax is increasing every year. Waterfalls and ponds located in Zeytinli town of Edremit district are in the Kazdağları National Park and the entrance is for a fee.

Beaches in Assos

There are many beaches and bays to swim in the centre of Assos and its surroundings. Some of these beaches have blue flags. You can swim in the Assos harbour, Kadırga Bay, Assos Green Harbor, Koruoba Bay, Service Bay, Sokakağzı Bay and Babakale Bay.

Port of Assos

There is also the possibility to swim in the harbour in the centre of Asos. Due to the stony seafloor, it is recommended that those entering the sea bring sea shoes with them.

Kadırga Bay

In the bay which is 2 km south of Assos, sunbeds and umbrellas are available for a fee as well as the enterprises where food and beverage needs are met.
