Balçova

Famous for its thermal facilities, natural beauty and cable cars, Balçova attracts thousands of local and foreign tourists every year. It is located at a very easy point in terms of transportation since it is 18 km away from the airport and 9 km away from İzmir. Balçova has never lost its importance during the history with its thermal springs and has a history of 3 thousand years and it has been frequently mentioned in health tourism today.

How to go to Balçova

Transportation to Balçova can be provided by minibuses departing from İzmir bus terminal, as well as by ferries departing from Alsancak, Konak, Karşıyaka, Bostanlı and Passport ports. If you want to go to Balçova by municipality buses, you can take buses numbered 269 from Alsancak and numbered 169 from Konak.

Balçova Cable Car

  When it comes to Balçova, the first thing that comes to mind is the cable car. The ropeway, which was established in 1974, was closed in 2008 after being used for many years, and in 2015 it was brought into use again when it was restored in line with EU standards. After a 3-minute cable car ride with a unique view of Izmir, you can reach the recreational facilities on the hill. There are restaurants, tea garden, breakfast saloon, organic market selling natural products and a barbecue house for those who want to have a picnic and barbecue on the hill where you can see the amazing view. Paragliding is also available on the hill. Those who want to go to the cable car by taking the Izmir Municipality buses numbered 82, 167, 320.                                    The cable car service is available from 10:00 to 18:00 every day except Mondays.

Balçova Thermal Springs

Balçova thermal springs, which have been healing people since ancient times, are now turned into a facility and serve its visitors with a better quality service. Having Turkey’s most modern and clean thermal springs, Balçova is increasing its attraction each passing day. In Balçova thermal springs, which have a water temperature of 63 degrees, there are mud bath treatments, sessions for rheumatic diseases, different kinds of treatments for respiratory disorders, metabolic disorders and diseases caused by inflammation.
