Located at the foot of Babadağ, the Butterly valley, surrounded by rocks up to 350 meters high, is among the places visited by local and foreign tourists with its endemic plant species, more than 80 butterfly species, magnificent nature, beach and clear sea. Although its name is Butterfly Valley, there are very few butterflies in the valley.
Starting from 1987, planted trees afforested to the present appearance of the Butterfly Valley and boats from Oludeniz boat tour stopping by swimming and rest break, offer an opportunity to spend a nice time. Butterfly Valley is waiting for its visitors with its clean sea and beach.
Businesses in the valley provide services in line with the needs of visitors and offer camping facilities for those who want to rent tents and other materials for those who do not have tent materials. It is also possible to see the creek and waterfalls that start in winter and flow until the first spring in April.
Since there is no highway to Butterfly Valley, transportation is provided after a 25-minute journey by boats departing from Ölüdeniz. Although the village of Faralya has a descent path down a difficult path, it is not used much because the terrain is very dangerous. The Butterfly Valley, which has been declared a first-degree natural protected area since 1995, has become one of the important centres of nature and camping tourism. The most beautiful pictures of the butterflies valley can be taken in the place where the starting sign of the Karaöz route of the Lycian Road is located, and on the Faralya side just above the valley. For those who want to go to Butterfly Valley which is free of charge, the last boat from Oludeniz leaves at 18:00.
