Tokalı (Akdağ) Canyon
Canyon spans a total of 20 km of steps consisting of Turkey’s deepest and most difficult crossing passage. There are rocks up to 200 meters high in a 1200-meter section of the Tokalı canyon. Especially the high rocks at the entrance of the canyon and the eagle nests fascinate those who see them. The canyon, which has the widest area of 4 meters and the narrowest place of approximately 2 meters, is crossed in 8 hours on average.
The canyon, which was visited by groups who made the canyon crossing especially in the summer months, was first passed on November 7, 1993, by a team of 10 people. The canyon passers swim at some points, climb at some points and sometimes complete their passage by walking in the water.
Those who want to go to the canyon by private car should first come to Çivril district of Denizli. You can go to the town of Gümüşsuyu, which is 30 km away, and the canyon is reached after about 2 km. For those who want to go to the canyon by minibus and there are minibuses from Denizli bus station to Çivril-Gümüşsuyu neighbourhood.
