The ancient city of Idebessos, located at an altitude of 900 meters above sea level, is located near the Kocaağacı neighbourhood of the Karaca ruins village of Kumluca. Due to the lack of archaeological excavations, there is not much information about the establishment date of the city. The ruins of the ancient city include a theatre with a capacity of 700 people, a city wall, a Turkish bath, an aqueduct and a family cemetery consisting of three sarcophagi. In one of the sarcophagi, we can see shield and spear depiction, and in another grave, the lion attacking the bull made of high relief in the blocks forming the base of the sarcophagus. The majority of the remains belong to the Roman period. Visiting hours of the ancient city of Idebessos: From April 15th to October 2 from 08:30 to 19:30 It can be visited between 08:30 and 17:30 between October 3 and April 14th. Museum cardholders can visit the ancient city free of charge.
