Founded in the 2nd century BC, the ancient city was unearthed during excavations in 1948. The ancient city of Kumlubuk is 25 km from Marmaris. While the ruins of the ancient theatre and temple, which have survived to the present day, can be seen in the ancient city of Amos, excavations are still continuing in the city and excavations are progressing slowly to avoid damaging the historical texture.
The ancient city, which has one of the most important harbours of the period, is built on a high hill and a magnificent view awaits those who visit the ancient city.
Those who want to go to the ancient city can go by private car as well as the possibility of going through Marmaris during the summer tours.
