Traditional Alanya House and Herbarium

This building serves as Alanya Municipality Cultural and Social Affairs Directorate and Alanya Castle Area Presidency Office, and it is also known as Hamamlı Ev due to its historical bath.
This traditional Alanya House was built in the early twentieth century with rubble stone and plasterboard wood system on two floors and the local Horasan mortar and scarce plaster were used. After being allocated to the Municipality of Alanya by its owners, it was renovated in accordance with the original. The house has been in operation since 2009 and original ceilings and cupboards can be seen in the house.

The ground floor, which consists of storage houses and service spaces, which is the characteristic of traditional Alanya houses in the original, serves as a herbarium. Investigation work within the scope of Alanya Castle and the surrounding area detected 20 of them being endemic 322 plant species of Alanya Castle flora and fauna species in this house which also is the first herbarium in Turkey founded by the municipality and 38 species of butterfly are exhibited. The upper floor and the garden of the registered building host periodic exhibitions all year round.

Sandık Emini Kayhanlar House

This house is located in Hisariçi neighbourhood and it is a traditional Alanya house. And it was allocated to the municipality free of charge under the name of Emini Kayhanlar House to be used as a Traditional Handicraft Center.

The inscription on the exterior wall of the building indicates that it was built in 1889. The ground floor of the two-storey building with an external table is made of rubble stone wall with wooden beams. The area around the stones was jointed with brick-tile fractures called “nailing” technique specific to the region.As in the other houses in Alanya, the houses in the courtyard and its environs have been built for the purpose of sheltering the people and animals.

Ömürlü Kemal Atlı Culture House

The building, located in the Alanya Castle Hisariçi neighbourhood and one of the examples of traditional Alanya house, belongs to the last period of the 19th century. It was built by local craftsmen by considering all the details of the wooden windows, doors and cabinets used in the building, and by using local construction techniques and an original architectural technique.

On the ground floor of the house, there is a small exhibition of silk and silk lace. In the exhibition, examples of how silk is used in the production of blankets can be seen, while the original and beautiful rooms on the first floor of the house can be seen.
The entrance to the culture house is open to domestic and foreign tourists and the opening hours start from 09:30 in the morning.

Hasanagalar Mansion

The registered mansion located in Şekerhane quarter was built in the early 1900s. It has been allocated to Alanya Municipality by the owners on condition that it is used for cultural purposes. Hasanağalar Mansion, which is one of the most spectacular houses among Alanya houses in terms of total area and height, also hosts many different activities. Hasanağalar Mansion, which is one of the 205 historic houses in Alanya, was restored by Alanya Municipality and started to be used for cultural purposes.

Gülefşen Mansion:

It is not known exactly when the two-storey mansion located in Oba district, Gülefşen area was built. The mansion, which is under the supervision of the General Directorate of Foundations, has an increased number of visitors, especially in summer months.

Hasbahçe Mansion

  Since a part of the mansion, which consists of two different places, is used as a cistern, a single part of it can be seen. Inside the mansion, which its building date is still unknown, there are colourful zigzag motifs.
