When we think of Ayvalık, olive, olive oil and olive oil soaps are the first ones that come to mind. Curd cheese, curd cheese cookies, Ayvalık toast bread, local herbs, handmade cloth dolls, hand- painted kerchiefs, accessories, handcrafted products and jewellery are among the products unique to Ayvalık. Cunda beach market is also among the shopping places in Ayvalık region.
Thursday Bazaar in Ayvalık: Since 1970, more than 400 shops have been set up every Thursday in the Thursday Bazaar where different products are sold. In the bazaar, which is put into service in the early hours of the morning, fruits, vegetables, Ayvalık cheeses, soaps made from olive oil grown in the region and olive products, herbs grown in the region and many other products are sold.
Antique Bazaar: There are 12 shops in the Antique Bazaar which is one of the most popular passages of Ayvalık. In these shops, antiques, furniture, old lamps, chandeliers, ceramics, antique bottles of liquor, paintings, jewellery, old books and many other antiques are sold.
Ayvalık Flea Market: Since 2007, it has been established every Saturday at the intersection of the eighth and ninth streets of Barbaros main road. Very interesting products are sold at very cheap prices in the stalls opened by local people and sellers from the surrounding settlements.
