Most of the ancient city, which means Arykawanda (the place next to the high rock) in Lycian language, is still under the ground and the excavations are still continuing. Hellios temple, basilica, mosaic houses, baths, water canals, necropolis area, monumental tombs, sarcophagi, theatre, streets with stairs, agora, gymnasium, Roman temple, 117 meters tall stadium, running track, water canals and water cisterns established to meet the water needs of the ancient city which is thought to be built around 2000 BC and surrounded with city walls. The ancient city of Arykanda within the Lycian Union was connected to Rome together with the Pamphylia of the Lycian region when Emperor Claudius ended the Lycian union in 43 AD.
The ancient city, founded on the slopes of the Bey mountains with its history of 4 thousand years, fascinates its visitors with its location that is intertwined with nature. The ancient city of Arykanda, which is 30 km away from Finike, is located on the Finike-Elmali highway, within the boundaries of Arif village and is reached by car until the entrance of the ancient city entrance to the city is subject to a fee and parking is available for vehicles.

From April 15th to October 2 from 08:30 to 19:30
It can be visited between 08:30 and 17:30 between October 3 and April 14th.
Museum cardholders can visit the ancient city free of charge.
