The sailors of the Temple of Apollo, which is the symbol of Side with its white colossal columns that came to mind or appeared before our eyes , were built in 150 BC in the name of Apollo, the chief god of the city of Side, the god of light, beauty and art believed to protect the port cities. In the 3rd century BC, a part of the temple of Apollo was dismantled for use in the construction of the basilica. The building was restored between 1982 and 1990 and today a large number of local and foreign tourists visit.
The Temple of Apollo at the seaside in Side has a rectangular plan built with Corinthian columns.Visitors can benefit from information boards in different languages around the monument. There is a special beauty of watching the sunset from this point, especially in the evening hours. In the restaurants and bars around the monument, visitors sit down and watch the illuminated Temple of Apollo making a historical journey and take lots of pictures in front of this huge monument.
