The ancient city of Bybassos, estimated to be the first settlement in the 7th century BC, is located 1 km west of Hisarönü village on the Marmaris-Datça road. While the ruins of the ancient city were thought to belong to the city of Erine, it was found from the researches carried out in 1960 that the ancient city belongs to the ancient city of Bybassos. Among the ruins of the ancient city are the terrace walls, the field wall on the northern side of the city, the remains of some structures at the seaside, the warehouse buildings and the churches. In the ancient city, which was home to many civilizations, Roman pottery and pottery were also found. The port city of Bybassos, which was a port city in ancient times, is now under the fields 300 meters away from the coast. It is estimated that the ancient city was a rectangular settlement. The ancient city is reached via Hisarönü village.
