Located between the Reşadiye peninsula and Bozburun road, Hisarönü is one of the popular holiday resorts of Marmaris with its natural beauties, beaches and pristine bays, and is visited by thousands of local and foreign tourists every year. Hisaronu, which doubles its population in the summer months, is generally among the preferred holiday destinations for those who want to have a quiet, nature-friendly holiday.
How to get to Hisarönü? Those who want to go by private car can follow Marmaris Datça road and reach Hisarönü after 20 km. For those who do not have private vehicles, there are regular minibuses from the Marmaris centre. Dalaman Airport is a separate option for those who want to come to Hisarönü.
Accommodation: Hisarönü offers accommodation options for all budgets, although hotels are open until November but are also open during the winter months. Generally, bed and breakfast and half-board hotels for those who want to stay next to the hostels apart-hotels and rental apartments also serve. For those who want to camp, there are private camping areas and businesses around Hisarönü.
Hisaronu Cuisine: Seafood, salads, herbs and olive oil are the main highlights of Hisarönü where Mediterranean cuisine is seen. Other delicacies of Hisarönü include çıtırmak dessert, sura filling, keskek, rice fish, çıntar roasting, çıntar meatballs, kıstırma, meatballs, watermelon jam, katmer and honey squash. There are also kebabs and grills in the restaurants serving local and foreign tourists.
Hisaronu Bay: Intertwined with nature and harbouring every shade of blue, Hisarönü bay is approximately 1 km long and at some points, when the shade of pine trees is reflected on the sea, spectacular images emerge.
Dişlice (Love) Island: The island is made of volcanic rocks and stands in the middle of the sea. The island is one of the stopping points of boat tours. The rocks covered with yellow and orange mosses and the tiny canyons on the island give the appearance of a maze. Dişlice Island which is one of the stopping points of boat tours is a perfect place to swim, snorkel and take pictures and see fishes, the island and underwater beauties. It attracts visitors with rocks resembling different objects on the island and underwater. You can go by boat tours from Hisarönü as well as by private yachts and speed boats.
Tours and Activities: There are many activities to do in Hisarönü, which stands out especially with a horse tour. Tours and activities include jeep safari tours, water sports, boat tours, daily or longer blue tours, scuba diving to historical wrecks. Horseback riding schools offer horseback riding lessons with professional instructors, while Hisarönü offers surfing lessons, which is an ideal spot for sea surfing.
Another tour to historical places is the trekking tour. This tour includes the ancient city of Bybassos, the temple of Hemithea and many historical ruins.
Inbükü, Emel Sayın Bay, Kartal Bay, Tavşan Island and Bencik Harbor are among the spots that can be seen in Hisarönü boat trips. Tours start early in the morning and end at 17:00 in the evening.
Hisarönü Shipwreck: Turkey’s oldest shipwreck which is approximately four thousand years old is located in Hisarönü. Among the remains of the shipwreck, approximately 50 meters offshore and 30 meters deep, are numerous jugs, pottery vessels and several different objects.
