Best Hiking trails in Phrygian Valley

There are 67 different routes for those wishing to visit the Phrygian valley on foot. Turkey’s third-largest trekking route, the Phrygian Valley trekking trail is 506 km in length. Although the starting point of the routes is different, the endpoints are Yazilikaya. Although there are many walking routes in Phrygia, which has a history of 3 thousand years, there are 3 main walking paths. All of the routes are marked with red and white colours to facilitate the follow-up of the road, and signs are placed at the starting points, important intersection points and endpoints to inform the walkers.

Route 1: It starts from Afyonkarahisar-Seydiler town and its length is 140 km.

Route 2: It starts from the Kütahya-Yenice Farm and its length is 147 km.

Route 3: It starts from Ankara-Gordion and its length is 219 km.

Phrygian valley cycling tour

Due to both its climate and its geographical structure, the valley can be visited by bicycle. There are many short and long-distance cycling routes within the valley. It is recommended that those who want to tour the valley by bike should wear suitable clothes for the terrain and bring their food and drinks with them since there is no market in the area.

Horseback Riding Tour of the Phrygian valley

The one-day and two-day Phrygian valley horse tour starts from Fethiye village, 80 km away from Eskişehir. Approximately 28 km, the route is completed in one day with an accelerated tour and optionally in two days. Among the points seen on the route marked in international standards, Fethiye village includes the Roman Necropolis, Büyük plateau, Kümbet, Çukurca and Yazılıkaya. On the first day of the horse-riding tour, Fethiye village-Roman Necropolis, Manastir locality, Büyük Plateau, Büyük plateau pond and Kümbet village are seen and they are accommodated in Kümbet village. The total distance travelled on the first day is 11 km. On the second day of the horse-riding tour, the route, which is 15.5 km long, starts from the village of Kümbet and continues until Yazılıkaya. Seljuk dome, Roman Phrygian campus, Lion temple, Sorkunlu plateau, Gerdek rock and Yazılıkaya can be seen on the route.
