Fethiye – Araxa Ancient City

Located 50 km southeast of Fethiye within the borders of Arsaköy, the ancient city was built on a long and low hill. The ancient city, which is approximately 915 meters high, is reached by a steep pathway. For those who want to go to the Arsa village, there are minibuses departing from Fethiye every day. A wall of 2.5 meters in width and 275 meters in length is connected to a Hellenistic tower. Among the ruins that can be seen in and around the Arsavillage are human-headed ruins, Lycian type graves, house type graves and inscribed blocks.  Since there is no extensive excavation in the ancient city, many remains are still waiting to be unearthed.
