Zeytintaşı Cave

The cave, which takes its name from the hill, is located in the village of Akbaş, 15 km from the centre of Serik. Transportation to the Zeytintaşı cave is provided by minibus or taxi. The cave has a depth of 14 meters and the stalactites and stalagmites constitute a sight worth seeing. The cave can be seen with the attendant and it is forbidden to touch the stalactites and stalagmites. Since the cave, which has three separate halls, is formed in 1 million years and continues its formation, it is not allowed to take photographs in the cave. The cave is 220 meters above sea level, 10 km from Aspendos, 54 km from Antalya, 15 km from Serik and 28 km from Belek. The entrance to the Zeytintaşı Cave, which is one of the places that cave enthusiasts should definitely see, is chargeable and no museum card is allowed.

Uçansu waterfalls

These waterfalls within the boundaries of Akçapınar village of Serik are one of the frequented spots for hiking and nature lovers with their swim ponds. There are more than 5,000 visitors a year to rafting at Uçansu waterfalls. Free entrance to Uçansu waterfalls is 65 km from the centre of Antalya, 42 km from Serik and 400 meters above sea level. Upper Uçansu waterfall and Lower Uçansu waterfall consists of two waterfalls.

Upper Uçansu waterfall falls down from 70 meters and Uçansu waterfall falls from 51.5 meters. Uçansu waterfalls along the Saint Paul hiking route are also visited by many people in the summer months. Kurşunlu Waterfall Nature Park

Kurşunlu waterfall, which is visited by visitors every year, is one of the many waterfalls in the Alanya region. In the small lakes in the park, different types of fish and turtles live and can be easily seen. The park is also home to more than 100 bird species and many wild animals. Kurşunlu nature park, which is a natural wonder with its green trees, water mill, waterfalls and vegetation, is definitely one of the must-see places. There are also trails for walks in and around the wonderful park, which is chargeable at the entrance, and it is possible to walk around the park with a 45-minute walk. There are restaurants, souvenir shops and buffets in the park to meet the needs of the nature park visitors. Toilets and parking are also provided free of charge. The waterfall, which gives its name to the park, flows from a height of 18 meters. The mill, which is located directly opposite the lake where the waterfall flows, has been restored and gained tourism. The mill is estimated to be 200 years old.

It is a tradition to walk and get wet in the corridor beneath the waterfall, which is a method frequently used by the visitors of the nature park in the summer to cool off. The Kurşunlu Waterfall Nature Park is 23 km away from Antalya city centre. Those who want to go with minibus can get to the Kurşunlu waterfall natural park by taking the minibus (230 and 231). Those who want to go by private vehicles can follow the D685 highway and turn 15 km from Antalya Airport, turn left from Soğucak bridge, then go 8 km and follow the signs to reach the waterfall.

Aspendos Ancient City

The world-famous Aspendos theatre and the ancient city of Aspendos are built on a rocky hill on the edge of the Köprüçay River, which flows into the Mediterranean Sea within the provincial borders of Antalya. It is understood that the city, which was understood to have been founded in the 7th century BC, was an important port and commercial city in the years it was founded. The ancient theatre of Aspendos

Aspendos aqueducts

The ancient aqueducts in the ancient city of Aspendos have survived to the present day, witnessing thousands of years of history. The aqueducts within the boundaries of the village of Camili are 15 meters high and are used to carry water to the city of Aspendos from the water resources near Gökçepınar, 15 km away and Gökçepınar, 12 km away. As an engineering marvel, the aqueducts still standing are thought to belong to the middle of the 2nd century AD in terms of architectural features and construction techniques.

It is known that water transported by channels is accumulated in warehouses and distributed to the city from these warehouses. An inscription found in Aspendos explains that the aqueducts were built by Tiberius Claudius Italucus and made available to the city. Another feature of aqueducts is that there are two siphons that adjust the flow of water.

The siphons provided that the water coming from the distance was first filled with the belt reservoirs, reducing the water flow rate and giving it to the city gradually. This system, which surprised even scientists today, is regarded as the engineering marvel of that era. It is recommended to visit Aspendos for a better understanding of how historical aqueducts function.

The ancient city of Pednelissos


The ancient city of Pednelissos is located 2 km east of the village of Kozan in Serik, on a hill of 650 meters high, known as Bodrumkaya. The ancient city of Pednelissos, which was first visited by researchers in 1914, contains temples, baths, alabastron reliefs, grave structures, sarcophagi and the remains of the sanctuary. One of the most important buildings of the ancient city is the three-storey Hellenistic style market building. In the Roman period, the first floor of this three- storey building was equipped with benches and used as a place to sell products, while the second floor was used as a depot and the third floor as an agora.

Pednelissos Ancient City is a Pisidian city and it is located between Sagalassos Ancient City and Adada Ancient City. In the archaeological excavations in the ancient city and still continuing, ceramic pieces produced in the vicinity of Perge and Sagalassos were found. Pednelissos Antique City is 75 km away from Antalya and it is possible to walk by land vehicles. Those who want to go by walking in warm weather early in the morning to start walking, the woodland area will be made for him to wear clothes and shoes, water, phone calls and not recommended to go alone.

Perge Ancient City

The name Selge is thought to be derived from Salaga, which means deep valley in Luwi / Etruscan language. The ancient city of Selge was one of the most important cities in the region during its time. The city of Selge has the distinction of being the first city to mint coins among the other cities in Pisidia. Despite its hundreds of years of history, the ancient city of Selge has solid structures that have survived to the present day. 1250 meters above sea level, the ancient city was built on three different hills. It is possible to visit the ancient city for a small fee. 90 km from Antalya and 35 km from Serik, the ancient city is within the boundaries of Altinkaya village. Part of the walls of the city surrounded by walls can be seen. There are towers lined at intervals of 100 meters and 7 gates on the city walls protecting the city on the south side of the city.  
The ruins of the ancient city include the Agora, the monumental fountain building, the necropolis, the church, the stadium, the water cisterns and the ancient theatre.

Ancient City Theater:
The ancient theatre, which has a very large capacity of 10 thousand people, was designed and established as a horseshoe. The stone seats in the theatre attract attention. Many parts of the ancient theatre have survived intact. The theatre, which has four main entrances, also has an entrance through the stage. The inscriptions reveal that the competitions were held here every four years and the statues of the winners were erected.  

Stadium:
In the ancient city of Selge there is a stadium with 215 meters width and 40 meters in length where some of the competitions were shown. There are also inscriptions in which Selge’s victories were written.

The ruins of the temples in the ancient city:
The ruins and temples on the highest hill to the west of the ancient city belong to Zeus, the chief god of the city. It is understood that the small temple next to the big temple was dedicated to Artemis based on an inscription. 

Cistern:
Behind the hill in the west, there is a large cistern for the accumulation of rainwater as well as the water transported to the city from different places.

Agora:
It is located to the east of the ancient city and surrounded by columns.

Basilica:
This building, located to the north of the ancient city, is 120 meters long and is estimated to be from the Byzantine period.

Necropolis:
It consists of three large burial houses, some of which are still standing, to the east of the ancient city.

Raucous Castle ruins

The ruins of Kısık Castle, which is 28 km away from the city centre of Serik, are located within the borders of Akbaş village and on a hill of 650 meters. Other remarkable historical ruins of the village are the extensions of the aqueducts that carry water to the ancient city of Aspendos, which is located on Kısık Creek and whose height is between 40 and 50 meters. Kisik Castle which has no definite information about its establishment is a historical building hidden among the pine forests. Researches conducted in the castle which was built for defence purposes revealed that iron processing was also done. The ruins of Kisik Kalesi offers a great opportunity for those who want to visit, stay alone with nature and see historical sites.
