It was built in the 2nd century BC by the Attalid dynasty ruling the kingdom of Pergamum. The altar of Zeus has a width of 35.64 meters and a depth of 33.40 meters and is considered to be the largest monumental religious structure in the world. Marble frescoes inside and outside the altar also have an important place in art history. The 20 meters wide staircase is one of the dazzling structures of the altar. Unfortunately, this great structure is not in the place that it is supposed to be today. But it is abducted and exhibited in the Berlin Museum.
