The ancient city of Troy

The ancient city of Troy, which is estimated to be founded between 3000 thousand and 1200 BC, is located at the junction of the Aegean sea and Marmara sea. It is seen that Troy is a solid Bronze Age settlement with its walls of five meters in height, consisting of 9 settlements. The ancient city of Troy, which was founded in close proximity to the sea in ancient times, has remained within 6 km from the sea.

It is known that the inscription on the seal, which was found in the ancient city and estimated to be written in 1200 BC, is the first article in the Çanakkale region. It is also known as the place where the Trojan war took place in the Iliad epic, which Homer is supposed to have written. In terms of its geographical location, Troy has played an important role in establishing cultural and economic connections with the civilizations ruled here. On June 5, 1988, the ancient city of Troy, where ancient excavations continued, entered the UNESCO list and became one of the world-wide known cities.
