It is not known exactly when the ancient city of Hamaxia, which is 7 kilometres away from Alanya, was founded.
Among the important ruins of the city are an ancient fountain with pool and a complex of religious buildings, well-preserved walls, various house ruins, a large building, which is believed to have been converted into a church in the late period, a tower, a fountain, an 11-inscribed Exedra and a necropolis between the walls.
