Balat Ilyas Bey Mosque

The mosque in the village of Balat next to the ancient city of Miletus was built in 1404 by Ilyas Bey, one of the descendants of Menteşeoğulları.Stones brought from the ancient city of Miletos were used in the construction of the mosque. Built on a pulley in the form of an octagon, the dome of the mosque has a diameter of 14 meters. The mihrab which is decorated with geometric patterns in the mosque attracts attention.

Arapapıştı Canyon

Arapapıştı Canyon, which was opened to tourism by Aydın Municipality in 2017, is 6 km long, 380 meters high and 12 meters wide and is located at the intersection of Aydın, Muğla and Denizli. In the canyon, there are Körteke castle, Pigianda settlement ruins of Çamlıdere village, hidden monastery, caves, Kemer bridge and 2500-year-old rock tomb. Mountain goats, red hawks and different heron birds can be seen along the canyon. There is a boat tour in the canyon every two hours between 08:00 and 18:00 in summer. During the tour which lasts approximately 2 hours, the canyon is introduced and many different spots are visited. There are suitable areas for camping around the canyon, and there are different routes for those who want to hike. The canyon, which is 92 km away from Aydın, can be reached by following the signs via Yenipazar or Çine road. Those who do not have a private car can come to Bozdoğan district and reach them easily from here.

Aydın Archaeoloical Museum
The museum, which was first established in 1959 in a room of Zafer Primary School, served there for many years. When the number of artefacts exhibited increased in time, it was moved to the building in 1973. The museum was recently renovated in 2000 and in 2012 it opened again. There are 3 sections in the museum: Archeology department, Coin section, Ethnographic works section and there are also other artefacts exhibited in the museum garden.
The museum exhibits artefacts in the vicinity of Tralles, Magnesia, Alinda, Alabanda, Nysa, Amyzon, Piginda, Harpasa, Myus, Pygela, Orthosia, Mastaura and Aydın.       

The entrance to the museum in the Meşrutiyet neighbourhood is paid and the museum cardholders can visit for free.
The museum is located in the city centre of Aydın.
Visiting hours are between April 15 – October 2, 08:30 to 19:00
October 3, April 14, 08:30 to 17:30.
