How to get to Bozburun? Those who want to come to Bozburun with their private vehicles can easily reach Bozburun from Hisarönü turnoff by following Marmaris-Datça road. Those who want to come from Marmaris to Bozburun can find Bozburun easily in an hour by following the signs on the roadside. Those who want to come to Bozburun by bus can come to Marmaris bus station by bus and easily reach Bozburun minibuses which run from 10:30 in the morning to 19:30 in the evening. Muğla Municipality organizes bus services from Marmaris to Bozburun from 06:30 in the morning until 22:00 in the evening. The nearest airport for those who want to come to Bozburun by air is Dalaman. Bozburun from the airport can be reached by renting a car or with services after a journey of approximately 2.5 hours. Those who cannot find a vehicle directly from the airport to Bozburun should first come to Marmaris and go to Bozburun with the minibuses from Marmaris bus station.    

When should you go to Bozburun? July and August are the hottest months in Bozburun, where the hot Mediterranean climate can be seen, and the temperature can go up to 35 degrees during these months. Those who do not like to enjoy a holiday in hot weather are advised to book a holiday in Bozburun in April-May or October, while those who wish to come to Bozburun in high season are advised to book their accommodation in advance. The seawater temperature rises above 28 degrees during the summer season in Bozburun which you can easily swim in the clean bays and beaches from May to October. While the Kentcard (bus pass) is used on the buses belonging to Muğla municipality, those who do not have the card can travel by paying to the driver.    

Where to stay in Bozburun? Bozburun offers accommodation options for all budgets. Small hostels, boutique hotels, all-inclusive hotels, bed and breakfast or half-board hotels, resort-style hotels, apart-hotels, rental apartments and rental villas are among the accommodation options. Some hotels that are located close to the bays are not accessible by car, so transportation is provided by the hotel’s boats. There are also suitable areas around Bozburun for those who want to camp.  Since June, July and August are high seasons, it is recommended for those who come to Bozburun to book in advance. 

What to eat in Bozburun? It is very easy to find different dishes of Aegean and Mediterranean cuisine in Bozburun.In Bozburun, a small fishing town, fresh fish and seafood are the main dishes cooked in the kitchen according to the season. Apart from seafood, dishes with olive oil, appetizers and salads made from herbs grown in the environment are among the prominent tastes in Bozburun. Bozburun’s flavours include the rusks, plane-roasted meatballs, köreme, sesame croquettes.

Things to do in Bozburun: Although Bozburun is a small settlement, due to its geographical location, there are many beautiful spots, bays and settlements to be seen around it.Orhaniye- Kizkumu, Turgut village-Turgut waterfall, Selimiye, Bozukkale, Bayir village, Hisaronu, Turunc, Sogutkoy, Kumlubuk, Hisaronu are among the places that are definitely recommended for those who come to Bozburun with their vehicles. Among the bays to be seen by participating in the boat tour are Ada Bosphorus, Serçe Harbor, Bozukkale, Üç Taş (Three Stones), Aquarium and Dirsekbükü bay. Among the ancient cities that can be seen around Bozburun are Baybassos, Hygassos, Syrna, Amos, Kasara and many more ancient cities.

Bays and Beaches: There are magnificent bays to be seen in Bozburun, which is famous for its bays that look like an aquarium. If you’re travelling as a group in Bozburun it is recommended to rent boats and visit the bays. Thus, you’ll have the opportunity to see many bays and at a very cheap price. Daily boat trips are available for those who want to visit the bays without renting a private boat.

Bozukkale Bay: Bozukkale bay, which is one of the frequent destinations for yachts and boat tourers, looks like a natural pool at the southwest end of Bozburun Peninsula. Excavations carried out in 1995 in the region, where the ruins of Loryma Antique City are located, revealed three big cisterns, acropolis, necropolis and walls of the ancient city. Entrance to the bay is free and it offers a unique opportunity for those who wish to sunbathe and enter the sea in a quiet environment. Those who want to go to Bozukkale Bay by private vehicles must come from Söğüt village to Taşlıca and then walk a short distance.

Shopping: Since Bozburun is a small holiday resort, all of the shops are generally concentrated in the centre. The bazaar, which is established every Tuesday in Bozburun, offers an alternative for those who want to shop. It is recommended to buy mint, oregano, sage and different kinds of spices as well as Datça thyme honey which are grown and sold in the region before going back home.

Bozburun Gulet Boat construction: In Bozburun where Turkey’s highest quality of gulets and tour boats are manufactured, there is also numerous boat-building workshop. The gulet boats built in Bozburun gulet workshops are sold to many different countries of the world, especially to Germany, England and the Netherlands. The gulet boats built in Bozburun are exhibited every year in October at the Bozburun gulet festival. 

Festivals:

* Bozburun Canoe Festival: The canoe festival is held every year in June with the participation of many people from Selimiye and Söğüt districts. Canoe races and different activities are organized within the scope of the festival.

Bozburun Gulet Festival: The gulet boats which are built in the workshops of Bozburun are exhibited in the gulet festival which is organized every year towards the end of October. Participants from different countries of the world come to the festival, which is visited by maritime, yacht and boat enthusiasts. 

Nightlife: Compared to other holiday regions in Turkey Bozburun has a fairly quiet nightlife. Disco bar parties until the morning are replaced with the evening meals in a pleasant and calm atmosphere in Bozburun. For those looking for different entertainment in Bozburun, Selimiye is 7 km away and alternative entertainment options are available. If you’d like to you can eat while listening to jazz music in cafes and bars or sing in karaoke bars in stone houses.
