How to get to Izmir?

Transportation to Izmir by plane: There are direct flights to Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, which is also open to international flights. Airport passengers can easily reach the city centre by metro, tram, city shuttles and buses.

Transportation by buses:

Quite easily from any point in İzmir, Turkey transportation is provided. As of its location, there is a direct bus for transportation to İzmir at any time of the day. Transportation to Izmir by private car: Those who want to go to İzmir from Istanbul direction should follow the direction of Yalova-Gemlik-Bursa-Balıkesir-Turgutlu-İzmir. Those who want to push to İzmir from Antalya direction should follow the direction of Korkuteli-Tavas-Nazilli-Aydın-Torbalı-İzmir.   

Izmir city transportation:

Izmir has a highly developed transportation system. In addition to the subway and suburban train lines that serve between 06:00 and 00:00, local transportation is provided by buses belonging to İzmir Municipality and taxi and car rental are also among the options. In İzmir, electronic cards are used in buses that has 322 different lines and those who do not have a card can pay in vehicles. It is easy to get to and from Izmir airport as well as getting around the city is easy.

İzmir Accommodation: 

There are accommodation options suitable for all kinds of budgets. Karsiyaka, Konak and Alsancak are generally preferred for accommodation due to its proximity to historical sites, attractions and sights. Accommodation options include five-star hotels, boutique hotels, apart-hotels, apartments for rent and hostels. It is recommended that those who will visit Izmir should reserve their places before coming especially in summer months.

 

What to eat in Izmir? 

Izmir has a rich kitchen with the effect of having hosted many civilizations. Many different dishes from the Aegean and Mediterranean cuisine are served in the restaurants, while Izmir and local dishes are also served. İzmir, which has very fertile soil, is especially famous for its dishes made with herbs, vegetables and olive oil grown in the region. It is possible to buy food products made from vegetables and fruits grown in the region or to see and taste the local products in the bazaars. Natural soap, homemade tomato paste, homemade jam, olives and olive oil are among the products produced in the region.   It is possible to see the shops where the products of many world-renowned brands are sold in the streets of İzmir or shopping malls or in Anafartalar Street. One of the places where different souvenirs can be found at an affordable price is the Historical Kemeraltı Bazaar.

Nightlife in Izmir

After sunset, the nightlife in Izmir is quite active In addition to the different entertainment options, those who love to walk at night are definitely recommended to walk along Kordon and see Alsancak and Konak regions at night. Nightclubs suitable for all kinds of budgets, bar disco and various entertainment centres are also located in and around Alsancak. Other entertainment options include nightclubs in Çeşme and Alaçatı, 45 minutes from Izmir.
