The Phrygian people, who are thought to have migrated here from the Thrace region, first settled in Polatlı near Ankara between 1100 and 1000 BC. They reached their strongest periods in the 8th century BC and settled in the region by carving houses, rooms, castles, monuments, tombs and inscriptions on the rocks for shelter between Ankara-Eskişehir-Kütahya-Afyon. The Phrygians, who are especially masters of weaving, wood and mining, have come to the fore with their geometric patterns, animal motifs and ornaments of different shapes. It is known that the Phrygians who have their own alphabets also find musical instruments such as flute and cymbal. After the Phrygians, the Romans and then the Byzantines took over this region.
