The ancient city of Knidos

The ancient city of Knidos was first established in the vicinity of the Salacak Cape, 2 km away from Datça, and moved to the Tekir Cape where the current remains are located in the 4th century BC. The ancient city of Knidos is also known as a centre of art, culture, health and religion. As a result of the excavations that started in the ancient city in 1967, necropolis area, a small theatre, Odeon, the temple dedicated to Aphrodite and Apollo were found. Among the works that can be seen in the ancient city are also the ancient theatre of 8 thousand people, sundial and Knidos lighthouse. Visitors to the ancient city of Knidos are strongly recommended to watch the sunset from this point. The archaeologist Charles Newton smuggled the artefacts from the ancient city of Knidos to England in 1858.

Eski Datça:

Old Datça, which is 3 km from the centre of Datça, is definitely one of the places to be seen. Kızlan village and Windmills:

The village of Kızlan, which is 10 km away from the centre of Datça, can be reached by private car or by minibuses departing from the centre of Datça.
