The ancient city of Amyzon, which is an important Carian city, is located within the boundaries of Gaffar village of Koçarlı district of Aydın province. Although there is no clear information about the establishment date of the ancient city, it is believed that it was founded in the 2nd century BC to stop and attack the enemy attack. The ruins of the ancient city, which has been home to many civilizations throughout the history, include the theatre, the agora, the ruins of the city walls, the fountain, the underground chambers, the rock tombs and the ruins of many building groups.
