Gümüşlük


Gümüslük, where the first settlement started with the establishment of Myndos city in the 4th century BC, is located to the west of the Bodrum peninsula. Even today, the traces and remains of the ancient city of Myndos can be seen and Gümüşlük is one of the first resort that comes to mind when you mention Bodrum.

Gümüşlük, which has a magnificent appearance with ornaments of bougainvillaeas and lilies, triples its population by the influx of local and foreign visitors, especially in summer months. One of the factors that make Gumusluk preferred as a holiday destination is ease of transportation, its nature, walking routes with great views and the opportunity to participate in many different activities.

How to get to Gümüşlük?
Those who want to come to Gümüşlük by plane need to use Milas -Bodrum airport, which is the nearest airport to Gümüşlük. You can easily go to Bodrum with the shuttles from the airport and use minibuses to go Gümüşlük.  

Those who want to come to Gümüşlük with their private vehicles should follow Bodrum-Turgutreis-Dereköy direction.
For those who do not have a private car, there is a regular minibus departing from the Bodrum bus station.

Accommodation:
There is a wide range of accommodation options for those who want to stay in ümüşlük. Due to intense demand, hotel prices in Gümüşlük are slightly above standards, while accommodation options include all-inclusive hotels, apart-hotels for large families, bed and breakfast hotels, rental apartments or villas, boutique hotels and pensions among tangerine orchards. Those who wish to stay during the summer months are advised to book at least three months in advance.  

What to eat in Gümüşlük?
Gümüşlük, where Aegean and Mediterranean cuisine is dominant, has restaurants for those who want to taste different tastes from Turkish and international cuisine. Recommended dishes in Gümüşlük include fish in salt, stuffed squash blossoms, stuffed vine leaves, köpoğlu and purslane with yoghurt. 
Gümüşlük is one of the stopping points of those who want to have dinner with its beautifully decorated and illuminated restaurants by the coast. Most of the restaurants located by the beach are fishing restaurants and there are different options for those who do not like fish. 
Gümüşlük Public Beach:
The swing in the middle of the sea is very interesting. Entrance to the beach is free and the municipality’s sunbeds and umbrellas are used free of charge. Shower and cabin service on the public beach is also provided free of charge. Canoeing or pedalo rental is also available on the Gümüşlük Beach.
Tavşan (Rabbit) Island:
The island, which takes its name from the rabbits that live on it, is reached on foot through a half-ruined passage through the sea. The magnificent view of Gümüşlük and the rabbits living on the island can be seen from the tiny hill on the island, while the magnificent view of the sunset can be seen from the island.
