Bursa, which has a very rich history, has a lot of artefacts and spots to be seen. With its historical villages, streets, inns, baths, mosques, caravanserais and many other works, it is visited by not only local but also foreign tourists. Cumhuriyet Street Cumhuriyet Avenue, which starts from Zafer Square and ends at Gökdere Boulevard, is located in the middle of the area where Bursa’s historic inns and bazaars are found. In 2004, the traffic on the street closed to vehicle traffic is provided by the nostalgic tram line. After the street was closed to traffic, it became the busiest and socially active street of Bursa.

Emir Sultan Mosque and Complex:

Grand Bazaar:

The Grand Bazaar found in the Hanlar region was built during the reign of Orhan Gazi, one of the Ottoman Sultans. As a result of the merger of many bazaars, the Grand Bazaar has been used since the 15th century. There are 130 shops in the bazaar and many different products are sold. The covered bazaar in the Heykel district is open between 08:30 and 19:30 and is closed on Sundays

Tirilye:

Tirilye is a small town located 1.2 km west of Mudanya.The town, which was renamed three times, was renamed Tirilye in 2011 .. OIn Tirilye, which has a very rich history, there are churches, mosques, old houses and historic buildings. The 200-year-old coffin house is located between the two most striking streets in Tirilye. Tirilye’s name is also seen as Zeytinbağı on some roadside signs.   Transportation to Tirilye is provided by private vehicles or minibuses departing from Burgas and Mudanya.

Gölyazı Village

Gölyazı, which has a very rich history and is located on a small island, contains many beauties. Remains of Roman houses, aqueducts, cemeteries and Ottoman buildings are outstanding. The Ağlayan Çınar tree, one of the most important symbols of Gölyazı, is among the most visited. Oylat

Oylat, which is 27 km away from Bursa’s 70 İnegöl, attracts many visitors in summer and winter with its splendid nature, plenty of oxygen, clean water, waterfalls and spas. It is known that the spa, which has been used since the Roman period, is good for neural diseases, rheumatic diseases, polio and many other diseases. In Oylat, which is small but always crowded, visitors are strongly advised to see the established market. Market, natural products grown in the region, plants, honey, olive oil, breakfast items, collected from thyme and other spices are sold. It is very easy to get to İnegöl by bus from Bursa bus terminal and reach Oylata by minibuses. 

Oylat Waterfall

One of the most famous waterfalls of the Bursa region, Oylat waterfall falls from a height of approximately 15 meters. To reach the waterfall it is necessary to walk about half an hour from the village of Oylat. The waterfall, which is reached through a magnificent nature and passing through 2 wooden bridges and platforms, welcomes its visitors as a natural wonder. It is recommended that those who want to see the waterfall take waterproof terrain shoes with them.

Oylat Cave

Hilmiye villages of the caves in the south Oylat point where the canyon is Turkey’s second-largest cave bears the distinction of being fossilized vertical cave. The cave, which is 665 meters long, has drop stone pools, stalactites, stalagmites and columns. There are also bats, butterflies and small reptiles in the cave. The interior of the cave is illuminated and arranged for a comfortable tour. There is also a cafeteria nearby to cater for food and drinks. İnegöl is 17 km from the cave and can be reached by private car.

Suuçtu Waterfall:

Although there are countless waterfalls in and around Bursa, Suuçtu waterfall flowing from Karadere river is the most well-known of these. The waterfall formed as a result of the collapse of a fault line is poured from a height of approximately 40 meters. The area around the waterfall is suitable for camping, picnicking, hiking and nature activities. Those who want to visit the waterfall and its surroundings without being affected by calm and heat are recommended to visit in March and April. The waterfall is 100 km away from the city centre by private car or D / 19 and D / 20 municipal buses departing from Bursa city centre.

Küreklidere Waterfall: It is located in a valley with 55 different tree species. The waterfall, which flows from a height of approximately 82 meters, welcomes its visitors in a different beauty in every season. Saitabat Waterfall

Saitabat waterfall, also known as Güvercinlik waterfall, is a natural wonder of the waters coming from Uludağ, which fascinates its visitors. Mudanya

With its history dating back to the 7th millennium BC, Mudanya is among the most developed districts of Bursa. It is easily accessible after a 75-minute ferry ride from Istanbul. Irgandı Bridge:

 Irgandı Bridge is one of the four bridges in the world with its bazaar. These four bridges are the bridge over the Osma River in Lovech, Bulgaria, the Ponte Vecchio bridge in Florence, Italy, the Rialto bridge in Venice and the Irgandı bridge in the Bursa-Yıldırım region.    The bridge built in 1442 was damaged during the great Bursa earthquake, destroyed during the Greek occupation but still survived. Firstly in 1949 and finally in 2004, the buildings were reopened. Handcrafted souvenirs, silverware, china, wooden products and local dishes are also sold in the shops on the bridge. Those who want to see the bridge can take the metro line 1 and 2 passing around the Ulu Mosque or by using the buses 22 / C, 35 / C, 48, 8 / L 9 / D and 9 / M.

Koza Inn:

It was built in 1490 by Beyazıt II to provide income for charitable organizations in Istanbul. The two-storey inn has 45 rooms on the lower floor and 50 rooms on the upper floor. Inside the inn, shawls and scarves made of Bursa silk are sold. The tile decorations on the stone gates of Koza Han which open to the covered bazaar are definitely worth seeing. There are six fountains in the courtyard of the inn and the inner courtyard serves as a café and tea garden. Located close to the Grand Mosque, the inn is open to visitors every day of the week.

Ipek Inn:

Built in the first half of the 15th century by the Ottoman sultan Çelebi Mehmet, the inn has two floors and 39 rooms on the upper floor and 42 rooms on the upper floor. Sultan Inn, also known as the Faytoncular inn, the inn was damaged in the fire that occurred in 1958 in the following years, re-built in addition to the old appearance. Bursa Soğanlı Botanical Park:

It is built on 400 acres of land next to Bursa Zoo. Opened in 1998 in the Botanical Park, different kinds of plants, 150 different types of 8 thousand trees, 76 types of 100 thousand bushes, 27 types of 6 thousand roses, 3 ponds, 1 water games pool, 2 children’s playground, flowers, ponds, different countries owned gardens. The botanical garden, which can be visited on foot, can also be rented by renting a bike from the 1800-meter private bike path. Located in Osmangazi district, the park is 8 km from Bursa city centre. Those wishing to come to the park, which can be visited free of charge, may use the municipal buses numbered 15, 15 / E, 35 / A departing from the city centre.

Tophane Clock Tower:

The clock tower in Tophane Park is 6 storeys and has a height of 33 meters. The original tower was demolished at the end of the 1800s and rebuilt between 1904-1905. The tower is located in the most visited Tophane park of Bursa. The tower, which has a panoramic view of Bursa, was also used as a fire tower for a period. There are 89 steps on the top floor of the tower, which can be seen from all four facades with a diameter of 90 cm. Those who want to go to Tophane park can use Metro 2 line or 3 / C, 48 / A, 5 / A, 9 / M buses.

The park in Osmangazi is the largest city park in Bursa after the Cultural Park. The park has 252,500 square meters of green area, 81 different types of 2500 trees, 11,600 plants, one artificial lake, ornamental pools, 1000 parking lots, 2 km walking path, 3 km jogging path, 5 km bicycle path, children playgrounds, Atatürk Congress and the cultural centre, cafes and restaurants. Only 2.5 km from Bursa’s historic sites, the park is well suited for a summer break.
