Rize, which has 25% of the forests of Turkey is among the greenest cities in the Black Sea region with its fresh air. Rize which meets the production need of tea, also ranks 4th in the fish sector of Turkey. With its magnificent nature, Rize is frequently visited cito of hiking, camping, plateau tourism, bird watching, photography, nature and rafting lovers. During the winter months, visitors from domestic and foreign countries come to climb the frozen waterfalls. How to get to Rize?

It is very easy to find direct buses to Rize from anywhere in Turkey both in summer and in winter, especially in summer. There are ferries from Istanbul to Samsun and Trabzon for those who want to come to Rize by sea. Since there is no airport in Rize, the nearest airport is Trabzon Airport, which provides shuttle services to Rize.

Rize city transport:

Transportation within the city of Rize is provided by minibuses, buses, public buses, taxis and rental cars. Kart is used in making payments on the bus and you can also pay cash on the bus. There are minibuses to Rize and its surrounding districts and places of interest.

Rize Accommodation:

Rize offers accommodation options for all budgets. Small hostels, boutique hotels, all-inclusive hotels, bed and breakfast or half-board hotels, resort-style hotels, apart-hotels, rental apartments and rental villas are among the accommodation options. There are also suitable areas around Rize for those who want to camp.  Since June, July and August are high seasons, it is recommended for those who come to Bozburun to book in advance.

What to eat in Rize?

Due to its location by the sea, seafood especially anchovies are among the most cooked dishes in Rize kitchens. Anchovy rice, hamsikoli, hamsiçığırta, hamsiçorbası, kale soup, kale stuffing, roasting, meat and beans, roasted pickles, Rize pita, Rize bagel, cornbread, enişte delight, molasses pumpkin dessert, pepeçura and Laz pastry are among the outstanding flavours of Riza which has a very rich food culture.

Rize Shopping

Rize cloth and textile products produced from cloth, Hemsin socks, Hamshish, wicker basket, kemençe, boxwood spoon, Anzer honey produced only from Anzer plateau, Tea, Rize hazelnut, Cornbread, corn flour, black grapes and highland cheese are among the products that are recommended to buy from Rize. 

Ayder Snowman Festival

Held every year in January, many events are organized at the Snowman Festival. Events include horon dancing, local artist concerts, and the most entertaining, gliding with tubes on the snow. Before the festival, information about the scope of the festival is announced by Çamlıhemşin District Governorate and Mayor’s Office.
