Datça festivals

 

Datça’s municipality and non-governmental organizations organize joint festivals. The aim of the festivals held in Datça is to promote both Datça and the products grown in the region and to support social activities.  The festivals include Datça Bademli Pilav Festival, International Knidos’ Secret Culture and Art Festival and Datça Fancy Women’s Bicycle Tour Festival. 

Datça Badem çiçeği Festival

With the support of Datça Municipality, Muğla Chamber of Commerce and local people, the festival aims to introduce Datça, while nature trips, almond products, local dishes, handcrafted jewellery and souvenirs produced in Datça, local music and dance performances are organized. Also, natural products grown in the region are sold. The first of the festival was held in the second week of February in 2019 and participation is free.  

Datça Bademli Pilav Festival

The festival, which is usually held in the last week of April, aims to promote the almonds grown in Datça at home and abroad. Within the scope of the festival, various activities were organized and the aim was to promote the almonds grown in Datça both at home and abroad. Participation in the festival is free of charge.  

The Secret of Knidos International Culture and Art Festival

Generally, sculptures, glass sculptures, photography and painting exhibitions are organized in the first week of August and interviews with amateur and professional artists in many different branches are introduced to the participants of the festival.

Datça Fancy Women Cycling Tour Festival

The festival, which was first organized in 2013, is free of charge and local women and tourist women of Datça are participating. The festival is being organized in Turkey overall aim of the festival is to draw attention to environmental pollution. This tour with bicycles starts in Datça Cumhuriyet Square and continues with pedalling on the streets of Datça.
